The BFI’s set of principles to prevent bullying in the screen industries states ‘everyone is responsible for creating and maintaining an inclusive workplace that is positive and supportive’.
When joining an organisation or starting on a production, everyone should be made aware of anti-bullying procedures and feel supported to speak up about inappropriate behaviour.
If you’re an employer
Every employer has a responsibility to their employees, including freelancers and contractors, for their safety and wellbeing. Smaller companies may not have formal policies in place but the BFI’s Dignity At Work policy template can be adapted to create more inclusive and safer workplaces.
