Fundraise for us
Thank you for fundraising for the Film and TV Charity!
We’re the industry charity for people that work behind the scenes in film, TV, and cinema – whether you’re a researcher or a writer, in casting or production, distribution or exhibition.
Your fundraising helps us offer our services to the people who need them most, and helps make your industry a better place to work for all.
From our Support Line, offering both financial and legal advice as well as free counselling, to our Bullying Advice Service, providing 1–1 support – your fundraising efforts for the Charity can help to support these incredible services, which are lifeline to so many.

With 12 years of experience as a sound mixer, Jen has received a BAFTA TV Craft Award: Best Sound (Fiction) for the TV drama, Dancing on the Edge, directed by Stephen Poliakoff.
Since training at the National Film & Television School, Jen has worked on a range of films and TV as a production sound mixer. She is an advocate for the Film and TV Charity, championing the mental health support services we offer for people working behind-the-scenes.
Jen decided to set up a birthday fundraiser on Facebook to thank the Charity for the support we gave her during the pandemic.
Jen's experience with the Film and TV Charity
“I’ve been so glad to be supported by the Film and TV Charity. The last two and a half years have been a strange mental health rollercoaster. 2020 was a tough time for all and by the end of it my mental health has not been the same. I still continue to heal, and I can only hope what happened to me doesn’t happen again. Being bullied is something I would never wish on anyone. I can certainly vouch for the emails and phone calls I continue to have with Justine at the Film and TV Charity. Justine has helped me with the support I needed professionally when I thought that was it for me.”
Alex is a costume and knitwear maker within the film and HE+TV industries. She loves all things sewing, knitting and cats! She started running during lockdown to help with her mental health.
Her knitting work has been featured in productions such as Mothering Sunday (2021) and The Essex Serpent (2022).
Alex's experience with the Film and TV Charity
"I was introduced to the Film and TV Charity by an amazing medic on a job where I was particularly struggling. It can be very scary to suffer with mental illness, even more so at work. Even more so when work is your dream job in an industry where word of mouth and recommendation alone keeps you employed. After doing some research, I was shocked to discover that 9 out of 10 people working in my industry had experienced a mental health problem and 55% of respondents to a study conducted by the charity into the crisis had considered taking their own lives.
The Film and TV Charity has a 24/7 Support Line, it has access to counselling, it has directions to courses on how to help those on your team who might be finding things hard, and it shows that we are not alone, and it’s OK to admit that there are bad days. The resources supplied by the Charity and the advice from the medic that day made me brave enough to tell people what was going on. And I was so incredibly supported by my team and bosses as soon as I did. I wish I had spoken out earlier.
So, this is for anyone whose brain tells them they aren’t good enough, that others are better, that they can’t do something, and they should give up. My brain told me once that I could never run a marathon. Just watch me!"
