Grants of up to £10,000, available for mid-to-senior Black and Global Majority individuals working behind the scenes in film, TV, and cinema

If you are a mid-to-senior level industry professional from the Black and Global Majority who works behind the scenes in film, TV, or cinema, then you may be eligible to apply for a Reel Impact grant of up to £10,000.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to apply:

  • You must identify as Black and Global Majority
  • You must live and work in the UK
  • You must have three years’ experience of working in the UK film, TV, or cinema industry
  • You participate in creating or distributing entertainment that is shown in cinemas, broadcast on UK TV channels or on-demand services, or streamed on pay-to-view digital platforms
  • The funding will benefit Black and Global Majority individuals, projects, or activities in the UK that improve the lives of Black Global Majority people

*We define mid to senior as those that demonstrate they have a level of experience and expertise, areas of responsibility, such as holding leadership, management, decision making or more complex roles.

Important information

Please note that we cannot fund the following:

  • Production or development costs
  • Projects or activities that promote political or religious beliefs
  • Projects or activities that benefit people outside of the UK
  • Funding for one-off events (unless linked to a longer-term aim or outcome)
  • Moving image, animation made for non-entertainment purposes. This includes corporate videography, commercials, music videos, community/​campaigning filmmaking, and education training
  • Digital content creation, e.g. YouTube
  • Front-of-camera roles, including presenters, actors and supporting artists

We may also use this information for the evaluation of our services. We may provide copies of the information in confidence to further individuals or organisations who are helping us to undertake eligibility checks, assess applications or monitor funding.

We may use a credit reference agency to validate information you have provided in your application. This is not a credit check and will not affect your ability to receive credit from other organisations. The credit reference agency we use may keep a record of the information, and may disclose the fact that a search of its records was made to its other clients, in order to stop fraud.
