Every great industry has its moment to come together – and for film, TV, and cinema, Broadcast Fives has become just that.

Now in its fourth year, the event returned bigger, louder, and more competitive than ever, transforming Shepherd’s Bush Powerleague into something that felt unmistakably like our own World Cup and the perfect warm-up before the real tournament kicks off.

Tournament day: What happened at Broadcast Fives 2026

Teams from across the film and TV industry were ready and raring to go. Big pastries and Lucozade bottles were in full force as people stepped onto pitches and courts with the kind of energy you’d expect from a major tournament.

After I welcomed everyone, the day quickly moved into action, with fixtures kicking off across both tournaments. From the first whistle to the final plays, the atmosphere was electric. Over 200 participants and supporters gathered to compete, connect and cheer each other on, creating a day full of standout moments, soothing massages and plenty of sideline celebrations.

With five-a-side football and netball fixtures running throughout the day, the tournament unfolded just like the real thing, with group stages, knockouts, finals, and unpredictable weather that kept everything interesting.

More than a match: community and competition

But like any great World Cup, Broadcast Fives wasn’t just about lifting the trophy. It was about bringing people together.

Across every match, there was a shared sense of camaraderie, collaboration and pride – a reflection of the same teamwork and resilience that power the industry every day. Another thank you to Audio Network for sponsoring the event and demonstrating the power of the industry coming together.

Fundraising impact: almost £23k raised for industry wellbeing

Thanks to the incredible efforts of every team and supporter, the event raised almost £23,000, an outstanding amount for the charity!

These funds will go directly towards providing vital mental health support, financial guidance and wellbeing services for those working across film, TV, and cinema – making a real, lasting difference beyond the final whistle.

From kick-off to final whistle

There were close matches and penalty finishes that made sure that the tournament delivered on every level, with some maintaining their winning streak as well as new teams getting silverware (the charity included!).

A cloudy but joyous closing ceremony marked the occasion nicely, and a few teams stayed behind to have a drink, chat and connect, which is what the Broadcast Fives is all about.

Congratulations to our champions
