Post‑production contract essentials for freelancers

Join us for a practical panel event for anyone working freelance in post‑production - particularly for those without representation to negotiate contracts on their behalf
12 May 2026, 6:30pm to 7:30pm Free London

As contracts become more common across post‑production roles, it’s increasingly important to understand what you’re being asked to sign. This session will cover the basics of post‑production contracts, highlight common issues, and offer general guidance on:

  • What you can reasonably expect from a contract
  • What’s acceptable to question or ask for
  • Where it may be appropriate to push back

The aim is not to provide legal advice, but to give freelancers a clearer understanding of what’s standard, what isn’t, and how to approach conversations with greater confidence.

Event details

  • Tuesday 12th May
  • 6.30 – 7.30pm
  • Film and TV Charity, 22 Golden Square, W1F 9AD

About the panelists

The panel will be chaired by Emma Butt, in association with the Film and TV Charity, and features expert insight from:

  • Lucy O’Meara, Talent Agent at Loop Talent – one of the few agencies representing post‑production roles
  • Mauny Wright, Reviewed and Cleared – media law specialists with extensive experience in post‑production contracts

Together, the panel will share perspectives from both representation and legal expertise, helping demystify contracts and empower freelancers to better advocate for themselves.

Whether you’re new to freelance post‑production or navigating contracts more regularly, this session will help you feel better informed, more confident, and less alone.
