Break The Cycle: Improving life behind the scenes

Our powerful new film highlighting the stressful reality for many industry workers
12 February 2025

Break The Cycle is our powerful new film that highlights the stressful reality for many industry workers – and how the Film and TV Charity is working to provide support.

Starring Boiling Point’s Stephen McMillan and The Gentlemen’s Daniel Ings, the film came together thanks to the incredible vision of director Joseph Morel from Neon Picturehouse, and producer Freddie Hill from Graded Films.

Improving life behind the scenes

From the outset on this project, Joseph and Freddie recognised the significance of our mission not only to provide in-the-moment support for individuals’ wellbeing, but also to work with the industry to change culture from the top down.

As well as distilling that mission into a compelling narrative, they also secured donations in kind from a raft of incredible talent, including studio space from Garden Studios, equipment from Film and TV Charity Industry Friends S&O Media, and wider support from:

A huge thank you also goes to Casting Director, Georgina Littlewood, whose expertise was instrumental in bringing together the film’s talented cast.

We want to thank everyone involved, but especially Joseph and Freddie, for their kindness, support, and incredible hard work. Together, we really can break the cycle and improve life behind the scenes.
