Sir Horace Ové was one of the leading Black independent filmmakers to emerge in Britain in the post-war period, and the first Black British filmmaker to direct a feature-length film, Pressure.

Launched in honour of film industry trailblazer, the Sir Horace Ové grant has been created to help Black and Global Majority talent working behind the scenes in film, TV, and cinema to access opportunities and navigate barriers to career progression.

The Sir Horace Ové grant provides financial support of up to £500 to address immediate financial challenges, or help you get back to work.

The grant I received from the Film and TV Charity really helped alleviate some of the stress accompanying the difficult situation I was facing.
