Film and TV Charity Launches Financial Tools to Support Industry Through the Cost-Of-Living Crisis

We’ve partnered with MoneyHelper to launch a range of new digital financial tools, to increase practical support for those in the industry facing financial uncertainty due to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Designed for freelancers who may experience less certainty with their income, and for those in employment who may also be experiencing significant pressures, the resources will provide advice and tips in the face of unprecedented financial uncertainty.

Provided by financial support service MoneyHelper, the tools can be accessed via the Charity’s website and include a Budget Planner and Bills Prioritiser to give users a better understanding of how they can manage their money and improve their finances. A Savings Calculator also means that users can get advice on how to plan and learn how to reach their financial targets.

The Charity recognises that the tools won’t provide a complete fix for all financial worries and troubles, and is launching them to complement its existing support, including support for those with an urgent financial need. Eligibility criteria for Stop-Gap Grants can be found here.

As well as practical concerns, worries about money can also negatively impact mental health, just as mental health can impact how someone manages their finances. That’s why, as well as sending a clear message about the financial support it can offer, the Charity is keen to ensure people working in the industry understand and take advantage of the full range of its support services. The Charity’s free and confidential 24/7 Film and TV Support Line, provides industry workers with access to a team of friendly advisors who are on hand to give advice and guidance, or to simply offer a listening ear. Counselling is available for those who need additional support, and the Charity’s Work and Wellbeing Advice Service also offers access to an advisor for up to three months, for support and guidance with anything from ill health, to career guidance and money worries
