Our new ambassadors programme launches

The Film and TV Charity’s first official ambassadors have been confirmed as director and filmmaker Amma Asante MBE, actor and producer David Morrissey, screenwriter Kit de Waal, and award-winning journalist and broadcaster Marverine Cole.

Cross-industry representation
With celebrated careers on both sides of the camera in film and TV, all four were invited to join the Charity’s ambassador programme because of their shared commitment to supporting behind the scenes talent.
Each of them has also demonstrated a passion for the Charity’s mission to create an industry that’s a happy, healthy, and inclusive place to work by improving wellbeing and promoting healthier working practices and culture.

Celebrating 100 years
The ambassadors programme launches as the Film and TV Charity looks to the future following a year marking the organisation’s centenary. Celebrating 100 years of support for industry workers, the year culminated in a reception at Buckingham Palace, hosted by the organisation’s Patron, His Majesty King Charles III.
Looking ahead to 2025, with the imminent launch of the latest Looking Glass Survey report, the next phase of the Reel Impact programme for mid-senior level Black and Global Majority workers and organisations, and ongoing work to develop pan-industry mental health standards, there is much for the ambassadors to lend their support to.
