Anti-Racism Wellbeing Service
Anti-Racism support for Black and Global Majority professionals
Our Anti-Racism Wellbeing Service is a free, confidential service offering specialist one-to-one wellbeing support to Black and Global Majority professionals working behind the scenes in UK film, TV, and cinema.
Working in this industry can be demanding for anyone. When you are also navigating racism or carrying the weight of being one of very few people of colour on a production or in a team, that experience is rarely seen or understood. This service exists because it should be.
Confidential one-to-one support for navigating racism at work
The service offers confidential one-to-one support and is led by Dr Anthony Newton, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with both clinical expertise and lived understanding of these experiences. It provides a dedicated space to talk openly, make sense of what you are facing, and think through what might help.
You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out. Whether something specific has happened, or you are simply carrying the cumulative impact of navigating spaces not built with you in mind, you’re welcome here.

About the Anti-Racism Wellbeing Service
Racism is rarely experienced in isolation. The ways it shows up can be shaped by other parts of who you are, including but not limited to your gender, sexuality, disability, faith, age, or class.
This is a space where your whole experience is recognised, with racism and racialised harm at its heart.
This space is for you if you are:
- Experiencing racism, racialised bullying, or harassment in the industry
- Feeling isolated, unseen, or like you do not belong
- Carrying the psychological weight of being one of very few people of colour in your workplace or on your production
- Processing the impact of witnessing racism or discrimination, even when it was not directed at you
- Living with the exhaustion, grief, or uncertainty that can come with working in an industry that was not designed with you in mind
This is a confidential, psychologically informed space, not a reporting process and not long-term therapy. It is somewhere to be heard, to understand your options, and to be supported towards the next steps that feel right for you.
Support includes:
- Confidential one-to-one sessions, by phone or by video
- A space to process your experiences with someone who understands the industry and the realities of racism within it
- Guidance on your options and signposting to further support where helpful
The service is free, independent, and confidential. There is no pressure to take any particular action.
This service is for people whose experience involves racism or racialised harm. If you have experienced bullying or harassment that is not related to your race or ethnicity, the charity’s Bullying Advice Service may be the right starting point.
If your experience involves racism, or you're not sure where to start, you are welcome to get in touch, and we will help you find the right support.
We use Black and Global Majority to refer to people of colour who experience racialisation as a minority in the UK, including those of African, Caribbean, South Asian, East and South East Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American, dual or mixed heritage, and Indigenous backgrounds.
If you are unsure whether this service is for you, please get in touch. We will always do our best to help, and if we are not the right fit, we will point you to someone who is.
